Position Description / Responsibilities:
-
Assist with the design, development and tuning of high-transaction
databases.
-
Must have experience working in a production environment.
-
Provide shared 24x7 database support for multiple Oracle 10g databases
in a Sun
Sparc Solaris environment.
-
Monitor and tune a high-transaction database that relies heavily on
PL/SQL code.
-
Perform general technical troubleshooting and provide support to
software
development team.
-
Share responsibility for capacity planning related to hardware and
software.

Assist in development tasks using PL/SQL and UNIX shell scripts.
REQUIRED Technical Skills:
-
5+ years experience as Oracle database administrator.

Oracle 10g experience a must
-
Extensive experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
-
Must possess strong ability to design functional database solutions in a
high-transaction environment.
-
Experience with database and query tuning for performance.
-
Rman experience is highly preferred.
PLUS Technical Skills (but not deal killers):
-
Oracle Partitioned Tables experience preferred.
-
Veritas Cluster experience preferred.
-
Data Guard experience preferred
